Update - Protecting Second Amendment Rights.

Statement

Date: Aug. 2, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

I wanted to take a moment to update you on my work to protect gun rights for law-abiding Americans.

As you may already know, a bill was introduced in Congress called the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 (H.R. 38). This bill authorizes a person who is carrying a valid state license or permit for a concealed firearm to carry that firearm across state lines provided that the neighboring state recognizes the issuing authority for licenses or permits to carry concealed firearms.

I wanted to contact you today to let you know that I am a cosponsor and strong supporter of this bill.

I believe the Framers of the Constitution and our Bill of Rights are clear about the nature of the right and the purpose of the Second Amendment. And as a gun owner, I believe that the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms must be protected. Rest assured that I am committed to preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals to purchase, possess, and use firearms for legitimate purposes.

I hope you will contact me any time an issue that concerns you is before Congress, especially if it involves protecting your Second Amendment rights.

It's an honor to serve you and Virginia's First District in the People's House.

Sincerely,

Rob
