Dear Friend-
This week President Trump signed a proclamation declaring July 16-July 22, as "Made in America Week." This week we pay special tribute to all goods and services produced by hard working Americans.
The House is following that directive by passing a variety of bills that favor utilizing American made energy to bring reliable, affordable electricity to homes and businesses across the nation. I was proud to support these pieces of legislation.
H.R. 2883 - Promoting Cross-Border Energy Infrastructure Act: This legislation defines border- crossing facility to mean the portion of the pipeline that is located at the international boundary only and would establish a predictable and transparent process to permit the construction of cross-border pipelines and electric transmission facilities.
H.R. 2910 - Promoting Interagency Coordination for Review of Natural Gas Pipelines Act: This bill would promote better coordination among FERC and other agencies involved in siting interstate natural gas pipelines. It would also increases transparency and accountability by requiring more information be disclosed to the public. America is one of the world's top oil and gas producers and our energy infrastructure and permitting process must be updated.
H.R. 2786 - To amend the Federal Power Act with respect to the criteria and process to qualify as a qualifying conduit hydropower facility: This bill would promote the development of small conduit hydropower facilities, an emerging new source of renewable energy that can be added to existing infrastructure. Utilizing this affordable and clean technology would contribute to my belief in an "all of the above" energy strategy.
I am proud that the House approved these important bills and I will keep you updated as they move through the legislative process.
Please continue to contact me anytime an issue that concerns you is before Congress.
It's an honor to serve you and Virginia's First District in the People's House.
Sincerely,
Rob
