Rosen Statement on Trump Administration's Immoral Decision to Rescind Obama-Era School Sexual Assault Policy

Statement

Date: Sept. 22, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement in response to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos' recent actions to rescind Obama-era guidance protecting survivors of sexual assault on college campuses nationwide:

"I am deeply troubled by Secretary DeVos' move to rescind these new school sexual assault policies under Title IX," said Rosen. "The misguided decision to revoke these protections is a step backwards for victims of sexual assault and violence. President Trump and Secretary DeVos are failing to provide a safe, transparent, and fair environment for survivors to seek justice on school campuses in Nevada and across the country. I stand with survivors everywhere against the Trump administration's dismissive attitude and immoral actions."
