Rep. Jared Polis, D-Colo., gave the following statement in response to the healthcare plan unveiled by Governor Hickenlooper today.
"I am pleased that Governor Hickenlooper and Governor Kasich are promoting a bipartisan healthcare plan. I believe bipartisanship is key to making any progress on healthcare. I am proud to be part of the Problem Solvers Caucus, a bipartisan group of Members of Congress that have been working on ways we can improve the healthcare system. I'm thrilled to know that many of our bipartisan solutions are echoed by Governor Hickenlooper and Governor Kasich, and I look forward to working with them to make healthcare affordable and accessible for all," said Polis.
Since first being elected to Congress, Polis has been a leader on increasing access, affordability and quality of healthcare. This year, he hosted a digital round table on healthcare in February and June, and sent a letter to Speaker Ryan outlining a bipartisan path to improving the Affordable Care Act. In addition, Polis, along with Rep. Mike Coffman, R-Colo., are members of the congressional Problem Solvers Caucus, which has been active in crafting bipartisan healthcare solutions. Over 6,500 constituents have contacted Polis since January in support of the Affordable Care Act or against the Republican health care plan.
