Congressman Kevin Cramer issued the following statement after President Donald J. Trump announced plans to make the opioid epidemic a national emergency:
I applaud President Trump's decisive action to tackle the opioid epidemic head-on with his national emergency declaration. The burden of drug addiction is a pain felt by so many across this country. Whether it's a child, a spouse, a parent, or a friend, opioid addiction doesn't play favorites, and we have got to get ahold of this disaster before matters get worse. God willing, the additional resources becoming available through this national emergency declaration will help bring an end to this terrible problem.
