Today, Congressman Jimmy Gomez (D -- Los Angeles) made the following statement in response to President Trump's speech at his Arizona rally:
"The remarks made by President Trump tonight remind us of his true character. When speaking from his heart, the President is a cold, callous, and unqualified demagogue who will threaten a government shutdown for a soundbite. We cannot allow this president to destroy everything America stands for just so he can feel better about himself."
