Congressman Andy Biggs Calls for Action on Right to Try Legislation

Statement

Date: July 12, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Andy Biggs released the following statement in support of Senator Ron Johnson's request for Right to Try legislation to be incorporated in the FDA Reauthorization Act of 2017:

"Right to Try is a bipartisan policy that has passed in almost 40 states and deserves to receive a vote in Congress. Many of us have known people who are terminally ill and desperately seeking to extend their lives. Right to Try gives these individuals hope and freedom to try potentially life-saving drug therapies. The policy is supported by President Trump and would be signed into law once passed through Congress. I am sure that the voices of millions will be answered, and this legislation will be allowed to come to the House floor for a vote either as an amendment to this legislation or as a standalone bill.

"We should not let one more American die without this chance. We should pass Right to Try."

Congressman Andy Biggs introduced H.R. 878, the Right to Try Act, on February 6, 2017. Read the press release here.
