Rosen Statement on the Trump Administration's Decision to Withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord

Statement

Date: June 1, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement in response to the Trump Administration's decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accords:

"The Trump Administration's irresponsible decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accords represents an abdication of American leadership to the rest of the world in the fight against one of the greatest threats to our national security. Instead of rising to the occasion to tackle one of the most serious challenges of our time, this Administration has decided to ignore the facts and walk away from its obligation to safeguard our planet and its citizens. It is our responsibility to lead by example and honor our commitments to reduce our carbon emissions and protect our environment for future generations. This decision not only places our country at an economic disadvantage relative to other countries in clean energy production and innovation, but it places us in harm's way."
