Statement: Rep. Ro Khanna on CBO Scoring of GOP Health Care Bill

Statement

Date: May 25, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) made the following statement on the Congressional Budget Office issuing a score for the American Health Care Act, which House Republicans passed earlier this month:

"Twenty-three million people at risk of losing their health care is 23 million too many. I find it incredibly hard to believe that Republicans in the House voted to pass this health care bill without knowing what was at stake."

In March, Rep. Khanna introduced a resolution that called for the cost estimate and impact of the AHCA before any vote could occur. It was disregarded by House Republicans.
