Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II released the following statement regarding the firing of FBI Director James Comey.
"I expect more information to be revealed within the coming days but this doesn't look good for the current administration - to fire your top investigator in the middle of an investigation? Each time we have these incidents, it knocks down the people's faith in our government. I am calling for an independent investigation into President Donald Trump's ties to Russia. This shouldn't be a partisan issue. It's time for a special prosecutor."
