Congressman Sean Duffy Supports Putting America's Safety First

Congressman Sean Duffy (R-WI), Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing & Insurance, today supported two straightforward bills that will enhance public safety: The No Sanctuary for Criminals Act (H.R. 3003) and Kate's Law (H.R. 3004). These laws would impose both strict criminal penalties for illegal aliens with serious criminal records, and strict monetary penalties for "sanctuary cities" that refuse to enforce the law, ending the Obama-era policy of refusing to confront the illegal aliens committing violence in our communities.

"Kate Steinle was shot and killed by a man who was a seven-time felon and illegal immigrant who was deported five times," said Congressman Duffy. "He should not have been in the United States, period. We live in a nation of laws, and it's imperative that we actually enforce our immigration laws before more innocent Americans are needlessly hurt."
