August 8th, 2005 - Washington, DC - "With Americans paying more and more at the pump, today's Presidential action lays the groundwork for greater energy security. Now for the first time in decades, America has a comprehensive energy policy. This long overdue legislation reduces America's dependence on foreign sources of oil by making ethanol a cornerstone of our energy policy. South Dakota farmers will play an important role in producing the ethanol that will fuel America's economy. I applaud the new Congress for acting and thank President Bush for his leadership." -Senator John Thune
