Cortez Masto Cosponsors Urgent Legislation to Safeguard Women's Preventive Healthcare Services From Trump Administration Attacks

U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) joined Senators Patty Murray (D-Wash.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Jon Tester (D-Mont.), and 44 other Senate Democrats in introducing the Save Women's Preventive Care Act to ensure that coverage for preventive health care services, like breast cancer screenings, birth control, and domestic violence screenings, can't be revised or rolled back by the Trump Administration. Today, 55 million women nationwide have access to birth control, screening and counseling for domestic violence, breast cancer screening, and other essential health care without any out-of-pocket costs due to the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

"The Administration's war on women reached a new low last week as Trump signed an executive order to erode access to contraception and House Republicans voted yet again to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act," said Cortez Masto. "I am proud to partner with my colleagues in the Senate to introduce a bill that would protect essential services like cancer screening and domestic abuse counselling from this onslaught of attacks."
