Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) today released the following statement after the Trump administration rescinded Obama-era guidance requiring schools to protect transgender students by ensuring they can use bathrooms and locker rooms matching their gender identity:

"Equal access to school is not a state's rights issue. Transgender children -- who face tragically high levels of bullying, harassment and suicide -- are one of the most vulnerable populations of students. Removing much-needed protections for transgender children is nothing short of heartless."
