Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01), chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Seapower and Projection Forces, today issued the following statement on the release of the Congressional Budget Office's (CBO) report outlining the path the building a 355 ship Navy.

"The Navy has indicated a need for a 355 ship fleet to deter our adversaries, reassure our allies, and respond to conflict when necessary. Today's report by the Congressional Budget Office reinforces my belief that a Navy buildup is both necessary and achievable with the proper amount of Congressional support. As Seapower and Projection Forces Chairman, I look forward to working with my colleagues to start us on a path to growing the Navy to keep our nation safe."
