Gov. Rounds Announces Eureka Capital for a Day Program

Gov. Mike Rounds and his team are taking state government to the people during Capital for a Day in Eureka on Wednesday, August 17, 2005. The public is invited to join the activities starting at 3 p.m. (CT) at the Eureka Public School Auditorium.

"Capital for a Day brings government to the local community," said Gov. Rounds. "It allows people who are unable to travel to Pierre an opportunity to discuss their issues with the representatives of the different state agencies. It also gives state employees a chance to learn more about activities in the region. I'm looking forward to visiting Eureka to speak with all of the people living in and around the area and to learn about the issues important to them. We are also very excited to have Eureka native, Al Neuharth, join us for Capital for a Day," Gov. Rounds added.

"I'm encouraging the public to mark August 17 on their calendar," said Mayor Mark Opp. "They should plan to participate in the activities and interact with the governor and various departments as the business of state government is conducted in Eureka."
