"President Trump's sudden decision to fire James Comey has compromised the FBI's ongoing investigation into the Russian government's attempts to influence the outcome of our presidential election. The American people have a right to know what happened. It is in the best interest of the country and the President to quickly remove the dark cloud that has now descended over the Administration. The only credible way to do so is through the appointment of an independent prosecutor or a nonpartisan commission appointed by the Congress. We need to follow the facts and get to the bottom of this mess."
