Dear Secretary Ross,

I am writing to express my view that any decision you make related to the ongoing U.S.-Mexico sugar dispute not adversely affect the interests of Iowa farmers and agribusinesses.

The trade complexities of U.S. sugar policy should not be allowed to further reduce foreign market access for U.S. agricultural products. The U.S. corn refining industry supports nearly 260,000 jobs, many of which could be jeopardized by the loss of market access to Mexico.

I strongly recommend you resolve the U.S.-Mexico sugar dispute in a way that keeps all consequences and impacts contained to those directly involved in the dispute.
