Carter Supports Tougher Actions Against Criminal Illegal Immigrants

Statement

Date: June 29, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) supported two bills to further protect all Americans from criminal illegal aliens. Kate's Law, H.R. 3004, enhances penalties on previously deported illegal aliens who re-enter the United States. The No Sanctuary for Criminals Act, H.R. 3003, clarifies policies used by federal immigration enforcement officers to pick up criminal illegal immigrants from local jails.

"While there is more work to be done, today I proudly supported legislation to enhance the safety and security of all Americans against criminal illegal immigrants. There is no reason for families heartbreak and suffering due to the heinous actions of criminals in our country illegally. We should also put an end to sanctuary cities, and stop awarding those cities with federal funds. Today's action by the House moves us forward in providing better security for our great nation."
