Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement on Wednesday following the shooting of Congressman Steve Scalise and congressional staff in Virginia:

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Congressman Steve Scalise, his staff, family, and all those injured this morning. I'm grateful to the U.S. Capitol Police officers who displayed true bravery in protecting congressional members and staff and bringing an end to this senseless act of violence."
