Today, U.S. Representative Tim Walz (MN-01) released the following statement after President Trump issued a directive to roll back normalized relations between the United States and Cuba:
"By scaling back recent efforts to open Cuba to U.S. tourism and reduce trade restrictions, President Trump is not only hurting our national interests and the interests of Minnesota's farmers and ranchers, he is also hurting the Cuban people. Increased engagement with Cuba by U.S. citizens, companies, and the nongovernmental sector holds extraordinary promise. This President's Cuba policy is shortsighted and misguided. I strongly urge him to reconsider."
