U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) today released the following statement on passage of the one-week stopgap Continuing Resolution to avert a government shutdown.

"Congress has once again kicked the can down the road, passing a short-term bill that only funds the government through the next week. The American people sent us to Washington to solve problems, not pass one-week extensions that fail to provide certainty to families or businesses. Democrats continue to be committed to advancing a bipartisan appropriations bill that advances our shared values and funds critical priorities, including investments in children and working families, innovation and education, and programs that protect the air we breathe and the water we drink."
