Congressman Jack Bergman (MI-1) released the following statement today after voting in favor of H.R. 10, the Financial CHOICE Act:
"This is a matter of making sure that small- and mid-sized banks, credit unions, job creators, and communities don't suffer for Wall Street's mistakes. Under Dodd-Frank, bad actors have thrived while smaller entities like the ones in the First District have suffered unnecessarily under cumbersome, ineffective, one-size-fits-all regulations. This legislation puts an end to what has effectively been a corporate bail-out and stops unjustly punishing institutions that have always played by the rules. The Financial CHOICE Act levels the playing field--this is about reining in Wall Street and invigorating Main Street."
