Congressman Jim Banks today made the following statement about President Donald Trump's budget proposal.
"President Trump's proposed budget for 2018 sends the clearest message yet that he intends to change the status quo in Washington. This proposal takes much-needed steps to rein in out-of-control spending and balance the budget while prioritizing our national security. I appreciate the President's leadership and his efforts to restore the federal government's proper focus. Congress should use this proposal as a starting point, weigh in with appropriate changes and produce a final resolution that maintains the President's commitment to balancing the budget in less than ten years."
