Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after dozens were killed in an apparent terror attack at a nightclub in Istanbul:
"The New Year's terror attack in Istanbul last night saddens all of us. The cruelty of this attack is surely magnified by targeting a day dedicated to the hope of a new year. Americans stand in solidarity with the victims and all those families mourning loved ones today.
"We must be both strong and smart to protect the U.S. and defeat terror around the world."
