Cornyn Praises Committee Approval of Sessions for Attorney General

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement after U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) was approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee to be Attorney General:

"I've had the honor of serving alongside Senator Sessions on the Judiciary Committee since I began my career in the Senate. I couldn't be happier that today, that same committee voted to move his nomination for Attorney General forward.

"Senator Sessions has devoted his life to public service, and his qualifications cannot be questioned. He has a history of protecting and defending the Constitution and the rule of law for all people. He is the right choice to serve as our nation's top law enforcement officer, and I look forward to confirming him as Attorney General soon."
