U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, today issued the following statement regarding President-elect Donald Trump's intention to name Rex Tillerson as the next Secretary of State:
"Mr. Tillerson comes highly recommended by past secretaries of state, including Condoleezza Rice and James Baker. During the advice-and-consent process, I look forward to meeting Mr. Tillerson and learning more about his plan to help the new President restore our nation's standing in the world."
