House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released this statement following Secretary of State John Kerry's remarks on Middle East peace today in Washington:
"Middle East peace can only be achieved by real negotiations directly between Israel and the Palestinians, not through efforts dictated by the United Nations, which I have opposed.
"Today's remarks by Secretary Kerry were a reaffirmation of America's commitment to a secure, Jewish and democratic Israel, and a state for the Palestinians.
"President Obama has been a staunch and steadfast supporter of Israel. The United States' commitment to Israel's security is and will remain unbreakable."
