House Majority Whip (R-La.) issued the following statement regarding House passage of S. 612, the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) Act:

"The Mississippi River and Louisiana's ports play a central role in driving our national economy and American job creation. The WIIN Act strengthens our nation's water transportation infrastructure and modernizes our ports. By making a long-overdue reforms to our ports and waterways, America can remain dominant in the maritime marketplace."
