Cornyn Votes for Bipartisan Defense Bill

Statement

In remarks after the Senate passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) conference report, U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) spoke about the importance of the bill.

"We moved the defense authorization bill across the finish line. This legislation authorizes funding for things like training our troops to counter the ever-evolving threats emanating around the world."

"Fortunately, the bill also authorizes needed improvements in military facilities, like those in Fort Hood, Texas, Joint Base San Antonio, Red River Army Depot, and Ellington Field. Finally, it provides a much-needed pay raise for our troops. I'm glad we were able to finish our work on that to better serve our men and women in uniform."
