Senate Passes Annual Defense Bill that Includes Numerous Ayotte New Hampshire and National Security Priorities

On Thursday, the Senate passed the final version of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) by a vote of 92-7. U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte used her position on the committee and as Chair of the Readiness and Management Support Subcommittee to successfully include in the final NDAA and associated Committee Report more than 40 provisions that are important to our service members, New Hampshire, and our national security.

"Our nation confronts unprecedented threats, and I am pleased that the Senate passed the annual defense bill that is so important to our warfighters who keep us safe and free. I'm proud that the bill passed today, as well as the associated Senate Armed Services Committee Report, include more than 40 provisions I worked to include for New Hampshire, our service members, and our national security. I call on the President to sign this strong and bipartisan bill without delay," said Senator Ayotte.

"Serving as Chair of the Senate Armed Services Readiness and Management Support Subcommittee and working with Chairman McCain, Senator Graham, and other committee members on behalf of our national security has been one of the great privileges of my time in the Senate.
