Catherine Cortez Masto Joined Veterans and Members of the AAPI Community to Urge Nevadans to Get Out Their Vote

Former Nevada Attorney General and candidate for U.S. Senate Catherine Cortez Masto attended a phone bank with veterans and members of the Asian American Pacific Islander community tonight to encourage Nevadans to get out their vote and make their voices heard in this election.

"Tonight, I was grateful to meet with veterans and members of the AAPI community and hear their stories," said Cortez Masto. "Veterans risk their lives defending our freedoms and I believe they deserve top-of-the-line care when they return."

Cortez Masto also highlighted the stakes in this election for Nevada's AAPI community.

"The AAPI community is rapidly expanding throughout our state and they are a huge part of our state's success," Cortez Masto added. "Unfortunately, my opponent, Congressman Joe Heck, stood with Donald Trump when he proposed to ban immigration from the Philippines. The choice for the AAPI community is clear. As Nevada's next Senator, I will fight to make college more affordable and pass comprehensive immigration reform that keeps families together. In contrast, Congressman Heck voted to make college more expensive and supported Donald Trump even after he called the Philippines a "terrorist nation.'"
