Will Connecticut Republicans reject Trump?

Statement

The video footage of Donald Trump revealed how he thinks about and treats women behind closed doors. While Trump calls it merely "locker room banter," he is either admitting to or fantasizing about sexual assault.

There is no locker room in America where that would be acceptable.

America is better than the bigotry, sexism, and outrageous conduct of Donald Trump.

Connecticut is better than the bigotry, sexism, and outrageous conduct of Donald Trump.

Trump is asking to be our president, and we ask our presidents to reflect our values, to be moral leaders, and to be role models for our children. Trump is unqualified for that role.

I'm calling on Connecticut's Republican Party to stand up for what's right and denounce Donald Trump. Republican State Party Chair JR Romano should immediately withdraw his personal and his organization's support of Donald Trump.

Let's unite as a state and make it clear: Donald Trump is wrong for Connecticut and wrong for America.
