Today, the Deborah Ross campaign issued the following statement on incumbent Senator and Trump adviser Richard Burr's statement that Donald Trump's vile comments about women can be excused, simply because he "is an entertainer."
Statement from Helen Hare, senior communications adviser:
"Senator Burr is putting politics first and standing by remarks that don't belong anywhere, not even a locker room. These comments aren't "entertaining,' they are vile, and they certainly don't reflect North Carolina values."

REPORTER: He mentioned in the debate last night a couple times that he felt like the comments were "locker room talk." Now, you're a former athlete, you've probably spent a lot of time in locker rooms. Have you ever heard anything like this in your career as an athlete?
BURR: You know, you hear and read comments like this from professional athletes frequently. And they're entertainers. Donald Trump was an entertainer and is in many ways. But, again, I don't think that this is something that we dwell on after somebody has asked for forgiveness.
