FEMA's Amended Disaster Declaration Now Includes 3 Counties in GA-12

FEMA's Major Disaster Declaration for the State of Georgia, issued after Hurricane Matthew, has been updated to include three counties in Georgia's 12th Congressional District: Bulloch, Effingham and Screven County. Under this declaration, the aforementioned counties will receive assistance for debris removal, emergency protective measures and public assistance, and Bulloch and Effingham counties will receive individual assistance.

Rep. Rick Allen (R-Ga.-12) released the following statement in support:

"Last week, I surveyed Hurricane Matthew damage in Georgia-12. It was devastating to see some folks lose not only their lives, but their livelihoods in this storm. The loss, debris and damage I saw require immediate attention and assistance. I am glad to see FEMA including Bulloch, Effingham and Screven Counties to their Disaster Declaration so the people in our district can begin to rebuild their homes, businesses, communities and lives after this natural disaster."

FEMA's Federal Disaster Declaration and Assistance Programs

Bulloch, Effingham and Screven Counties are designated to receive:

Public Assistance for emergency work and repair or replacement of disaster damaged facilities

Hazard Mitigation Assistance for actions taken to prevent or reduce long term risk to life and property from natural hazards.
