Congresswoman Matsui Applauds Inclusion of Two Sacramento Flood Protection Projects in House-passed WRDA Legislation

Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-CA) issued the following statement on the House passage of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA), which authorizes funding for The American River Common Features and West Sacramento projects:

"Today's action marks major progress in my ongoing efforts to strengthen flood protection for the people of Sacramento. The bill we approved today authorizes billions of dollars I fought for to advance the American River Common Features and West Sacramento levee strengthening and construction projects. This means residents of Sacramento and West Sacramento will be safer, and our first line of defense against flooding will be more robust."
