PROCLAMATION
PROBATION, PAROLE AND COMMUNITY SUPERVISION OFFICERS WEEK
JULY 17-23, 2005

WHEREAS, community corrections is an essential part of the criminal justice system; and

WHEREAS, North Dakota's probation, parole and community supervision officers uphold the law with dignity while recognizing the right of the public to be protected from criminal activity; and

WHEREAS, community corrections professionals work in partnership with agencies and organizations to promote prevention, intervention and advocacy, and provide services, support and protection for victims; and

WHEREAS, North Dakotans are encouraged to recognize probation, parole and community supervision officers for their dedication and contributions to community and restorative justice; and

NOW, THEREFORE, as Governor of the State of North Dakota, I do hereby proclaim July 17-23, 2005, PROBATION, PAROLE AND COMMUNITY SUPERVISION OFFICERS WEEK in the state of North Dakota.
