Titus Statement On Supreme Court Rejecting Obama Administration's Request To Rehear Immigration Case

Today Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada's First Congressional District issued the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court decided to not rehear United States v. Texas, the obstructionist lawsuit preventing the Obama Administration from expanding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) initiative and creating the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA) program. The Court, missing one justice, reached a tie decision on the case in June, blocking the implementation of the Obama Administration's efforts to keep families together.

"I am disappointed that the Supreme Court rejected the request by the Obama Administration," Rep. Titus said. "For years, millions of families have had to remain in the shadows because of the GOP's refusal to pass comprehensive immigration reform in Congress. Obstructionist Republicans have made the situation even worse with this politically driven lawsuit and by refusing to hold nomination hearings for Judge Garland in the Senate. It's time Republicans start thinking about what's best for families in the U.S. and do their job."
