New Johnson Digital Ad Calls Out Senator Feingold for Pretending About Damages of Obamacare

Press Release

Date: Oct. 7, 2016

Today, the Ron Johnson campaign launched a digital ad on Senator Feingold's broken promises on Obamacare. The video features Senator Feingold, the self-admitted deciding vote on Obamare, saying, "They see that the healthcare bill was, by no means, as bad as some people pretended it was."

Local news coverage then outlines some of the problems facing the law as Bill Clinton says that hard-working folks are left, "with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half. It's the craziest thing in the world."

"Obamacare is a disaster for Wisconsin families, but Senator Feingold just doesn't get it -- he somehow thinks Wisconsinites are just pretending Obamacare has forced them to shoulder higher costs and left them with fewer choices. Even Bill Clinton realizes Obamacare is crazy, but after 34 years as a career politician, Senator Feingold has lost touch with the realities facing Wisconsin families." -- Brian Reisinger, Johnson campaign spokesman

Key Facts:

Senator Feingold bragged about being the deciding vote, and in 2010 said it's "going to look pretty damn good in two years."

Just last year, Senator Feingold said Obamacare is "here to stay," and that it was "by no means as bad as some people pretended it was."

Senator Feingold said that the problem of insurance companies leaving the Obamacare marketplace will "shake out over the next couple of years," but it's "ultimately going to be very positive…"

Senator Feingold wrote that if you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it. This was Politifact's Lie of the Year.

Senator Feingold has also said he was "deeply disappointed" the bill didn't go farther.
