Congress was envisioned by our founding fathers as the most powerful branch of government. By its very composition, Congress was always designed to be the greatest reflection of "We the People". Congress controls the money. Congress writes the laws. But somewhere along the line, both houses of Congress, in many ways, have abrogated their authority to the Executive branch. Congress, especially the House of Representatives, must reestablish the balance of power it was originally envisioned to possess according to Constitutional parameters over the White House. The President is not a King. In our Declaration of Independence, our Founding Fathers stated that in order to pursue our unalienable rights as men "Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed." Our government is no longer just, nor is it any longer reflective of the consent of the governed. Only with a restoration of the originally intended and Constitutionally established power of Congress -- a restoration which must take place one election at a time, one house seat at a time -- can we we begin to regain our nation. Trey Gowdy has been a lone voice on this issue, in recent history. I intend to help that voice grow louder.
