Trump's rhetoric is not rhetoric. It's educated opinion from the perspective of a successful American businessman who loves his country and does not intend to quietly see it destroyed by career politicians, weak policy and political correctness.

The 11 million number is estimated of course and subject to debate regarding accuracy. However, let us agree that millions of illegal immigrants exist within the sovereign borders of our nation. These millions are divided into 2 basic categories: 1.Aggressive illegals… and… 2.Passive Illegals.

A Passive Illegal immigrant is one who entered the country legally but has overstayed their visa. These immigrants are by and large good folk who are working and contributing to our society. They frequently have fallen prey to the very real logistical nightmare of bureaucratic paperwork and the endless red tape that it takes any of us to accomplish anything at all within the onerous inefficiency by which our Federal government operates. Millions of technically illegal immigrants fall into this category. They are living as Americans in America, but they just haven't managed to navigate through the paperwork of becoming a legal resident or beginning the path to full citizenship. These folks can be easily identified by our L.E. Services and they should be officially contacted and given a reasonable window to straighten out their legal status. This is not amnesty, it's common sense. Give the passive illegals a strict window, maybe 90 days, to get right or get out. But they must pay a fine. There must be a consequence for breaking the law and their path to citizenship shouldn't easier than the thousands of other new American citizens who followed the process the correct way.

On the other hand, the aggressive illegals entered our country illegally to begin with. They should be located by all available L.E. assets, identified, arrested, and deported. As a cop, I know first hand that ICE fails to deport illegal immigrants regularly. Do you know what happens to a car full of illegal immigrants on a traffic stop ?… Nothing, that's what. If they are not a felony fugitive, clearly identified, they roll out. Citation?… does anyone expect to ever see an unidentified illegal immigrant in traffic court ? Arrest?… our jails are full already and no warden wants a street cop to bring in an unidentified illegal… that ICE certainly will not come pick up…on a traffic misdemeanor. Tow the car ?… Then you have a handful of illegal immigrants on foot walking around your jurisdiction. Any bureaucrat can run their mouth about any policy and procedure crap they care to lie about. I'm telling you, in the real world, on the street, this is reality. This can be fixed immediately at virtually zero expense to the American people. The MOMENT local law enforcement is advised that ICE will actually come pick up arrested illegal immigrants, we will start arresting. Within a month, the street will know that the gig is up and illegal immigrants will start leaving the country ON THEIR OWN. Think about it… an illegal laborer would much rather load up his unregistered car and make it back to Mexico WITH his cash and belongings, as opposed to risk being arrested, his property seized, detained for weeks or months, and ultimately deported. ICE must have a clear directive from Congress and the executive branch to enforce the law. I am also 100% opposed to the idea of Sanctuary Cities.
