Maggie for NH Campaign Manager Marc Goldberg released the following statement on Governor Hassan's decisive victory in this morning's Mount Washington Valley Economic Council debate:
"Today, Governor Maggie Hassan made it clear that she is the only choice in this Senate race for hard-working Granite Staters."
"Throughout the debate, Governor Hassan highlighted how -- by working across the aisle -- she has gotten results for New Hampshire. Working together, the Governor balanced two budgets without an income or sales tax, froze in-state tuition at state universities for the first time in 25 years and lowered it at community colleges, and expanded health care coverage to over 50,000 Granite Staters. Governor Hassan focused on how she will take this same approach to the United States Senate to get things done for New Hampshire families."
"Kelly Ayotte, meanwhile, had no answer for her record of standing with corporate special interests in Washington at the expense of New Hampshire families and small businesses. Ayotte has repeatedly voted to protect tax breaks for Big Oil and companies that ship jobs overseas, while voting six times to defund Planned Parenthood and five times to repeal Medicaid expansion. And Ayotte failed to defend her support for Donald Trump for president, particularly when confronted with the fact that national security and military experts from her own party have said he is a danger to our national security."
"Granite Staters have a clear choice this November, between someone who will always stand up for New Hampshire's priorities -- Maggie Hassan -- and someone who will always put the special interests that bankroll her campaigns first -- Kelly Ayotte."
