This week, Governor Maggie Hassan will highlight the stark contrast between her commitment to protecting a woman's right to make her own health care decisions and control her own destiny, and Senator Kelly Ayotte's Washington record of consistently blocking women's access to care.
Today, Maggie for NH is announcing new web ads, featuring Granite State women sharing their stories about critical health services provided by Planned Parenthood, and highlighting the impact of Senator Ayotte's six votes to defund Planned Parenthood, which provides primary and preventive health care services to thousands of New Hampshire women, including preventative care, birth control and cancer screenings. And at an event today in Concord, Governor Hassan will stand with members of "Women for Maggie," including former Senate President Sylvia Larsen and former Speaker Terie Norelli, to outline how she will fight in the Senate to expand economic opportunity for women and families, and to protect a woman's right to make her own health decisions and to safely and affordably access health care.
"I strongly support a woman's right to make her own health care decisions and control her own destiny and I'm extremely proud that this year we were able to restore state funding for Planned Parenthood," said Governor Maggie Hassan. "Unfortunately, throughout her entire time in Washington, Senator Ayotte has been on the side of blocking women's access to health care. From Senator Ayotte's six votes to defund Planned Parenthood to her desire to overturn Roe v. Wade, and her support for allowing employers to deny contraceptive coverage to women, Senator Ayotte has consistently voted against the interests of Granite State women and their families. In the Senate, I will always fight to protect a woman's right to make her own health decisions and to safely and affordably access health care."
