Kelly: Would Hassan Have Voted In Lock-Step With Harry Reid To Block Government Funding?

Press Release

Date: Sept. 28, 2016
Location: Manchester, NH

This morning, Kelly joined Peter St. James on the radio to discuss what she is doing to make sure the government does not shut down and explain how Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats are manufacturing a crisis ahead of the election to help their recruited candidates like Maggie Hassan. To this point, Kelly had an important question: "I'd like to know if Governor Hassan, recruited by Harry Reid to run in this race, would she have voted lock-step with the Democrats yesterday to block government funding? "

KELLY: Well yeah, I agree with you, Peter. We've already voted on appropriations bill. We wouldn't even have to be in this CR situation if they hadn't blocked the appropriations bills, which are the regular way to fund the government, from coming to the floor, including the defense appropriations three times, so we wouldn't even be here, we would have had things done in the right way.

So I guess I'd like to know if Governor Hassan, recruited by Harry Reid to run in this race, would she have voted lock-step with the Democrats yesterday to block government funding? To me this is a manufactured shut-down situation to gain political gain, and you'll recall, Peter, when this was done on our side of the aisle by people like Ted Cruz, I stood up to them too. So I'm definitely going to stand up to Mr. Reid on his side as well.
