FACT CHECK: Burr Continues Absurd, Blatantly False Attacks on Deborah's Record

Senator Richard Burr's desperate campaign falls under more and more scrutiny by the day for his decision to take North Carolina voters for granted. And now, as the race tightens, Burr is trying as hard as he can to distract from his record of putting himself and the special interests first in Washington. He's doubling down on his "ridiculous" and blatantly false claims about Deborah's record.

With the race deadlocked, Burr has taken the low road and left the facts miles behind. The author of North Carolina's sex offender registry law wrote that Burr's attacks are "a total misrepresentation of the facts." But perhaps the News & Observer editorial board put it best: "when the ads get nasty, it is a sure sign that the incumbent doesn't have much of a record to run on."

The facts are clear. Deborah, and not Richard Burr, is the one North Carolina women and families can count on."
