Deborah's Women and Families Plan Builds on Her Record of Standing With Survivors

This week, Deborah rolled out her plan to strengthen women and families' economic security, health, and safety. The plan builds on her bipartisan work in the State House to improve domestic violence laws and support survivors of sexual assault.

"Too many women and children in this country and in our state know the fear of an unsafe home," said Deborah Ross, Democratic nominee for US Senate. "They need someone who will stand with them, not another Washington politician who talks about their safety and votes to undermine it. That's wrong and if I am elected to serve North Carolina in the US Senate, women and families will be able to count on me to put their health and safety first."

Deborah has been a longtime advocate for survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence. She worked to bring North Carolina into compliance with the landmark Violence Against Women Act and helped pass legislation to prevent survivors from being charged for medical exams that can help identify perpetrators.
