With New Plan, Deborah Builds on Her Record of Standing Up for Women's Health and Rights

This week, Deborah continued to build on her "Putting People First" initiative by outlining her plan to strengthen economic security, health, and safety for North Carolina women and families. A key part of that plan is standing up for a woman's constitutionally protected right to make her own healthcare decisions, an issue she championed in the State House.

"Women in North Carolina have had enough of Washington politicians who think they deserve a say in the decisions women make about their own healthcare," said Deborah Ross, Democratic nominee for US Senate. "These are deeply personal decisions that a woman should be able to make in consultation with her family, her doctor, and her faith -- not her US Senator. It's time North Carolina had a Senator who will stand up for women's health and their rights. That's who I am, it's what I've done, and I will continue to stand with women when it matters most."

Deborah's plan builds on the work she's done throughout her career to improve women's access to care, protect their constitutional rights, and fight back against domestic violence. She worked across the aisle to make sure women in North Carolina didn't have to pay extra for birth control on top of their insurance coverage, and she stood up for funding for Planned Parenthood, which provides critical healthcare services to women across North Carolina.
