Ayotte Statement on 15th Anniversary of 9/11

Statement

U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte released the following statement today recognizing the 15th anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks.

"Today, we honor and remember the nearly 3,000 innocent people who were tragically murdered in the horrific terrorist attacks against our nation on September 11, 2001. We will never forget those men and women - including ten from New Hampshire - and we will never stop praying for their families and loved ones. Today, we should all reflect on the tremendous sacrifice made by the first responders who rushed into danger to save others, honor all those we lost, and remember that in the face of such evil, America was strong. We also must thank the men and women in uniform who have served or are still serving our nation to protect our freedom."

"The Islamist terrorists hoped their attack would result in bitter division here at home and fearful retreat abroad. Instead, the American people unified and demonstrated that no terrorist organization can undermine the fundamental goodness of the American people or intimidate the United States."
