Governor Maggie Hassan Statement on Hillary Clinton's Remarks Highlighting Her Vision for an Inclusive Economy

Statement

Location: Concord, NH

Governor Maggie Hassan released the following statement on Secretary Hillary Clinton's remarks today highlighting her vision for an inclusive economy:

"Secretary Clinton's remarks today are a reminder that she is the only candidate for President who will work to include everyone in our society. As a young lawyer working at the Children's Defense Fund, Hillary went door-to-door to ensure that children like my son Ben, who experiences severe disabilities, could be fully included in their communities. Because of the work of advocates like Hillary, my son Ben was able to go to public school and make friends in his community.

"Throughout our history, we know that whenever we work to bring more people in from the margins and into the heart and soul of our democracy, we all get stronger. That's what I'm fighting for each and every day, to include more people in our economic success and ensure that everyone who works hard to get ahead can stay ahead. And that's what Hillary's fighting for too.

"That vision stands in stark contrast to the Trump-Ayotte agenda that would pull us backward. Both Trump and Ayotte support giving tax breaks to corporate special interests and the wealthy at the expense of middle class families. This fall, we must stand together and reject the Trump-Ayotte agenda, and instead work together to expand middle class economic opportunity."
