Kelly In The Union Leader: "I'm committed to finding solutions" for Affordable Health Care

"Ensuring that Granite Staters can access affordable health care is an important goal, and one that I've fought for in the U.S. Senate.

"But last week, we saw yet another setback on that front as we learned that Maine-based insurer Community Health Options would be discontinuing insurance coverage in our state. The thousands of New Hampshire families and individuals affected by this move have once again seen their options limited because of the Affordable Care Act. Yet even as the evidence piles up against this flawed law, my opponent, Gov. Maggie Hassan, still enthusiastically supports it.

"Community Health Options' decision to leave our state is just the latest in a pattern of serious problems we've seen with Obamacare and troublingly, Gov. Hassan hasn't even weighed in on the insurer's exit. Just a few years ago, she praised the company for expanding to our state, saying it would improve affordability and increase choices for Granite Staters. But now that they're leaving and limiting choices, she's gone silent.

"Gov. Hassan has been a vocal supporter for Obamacare since the very beginning. In 2012, she couldn't cite a single problem with the law, and she later expressed confidence in its rollout, which was especially rocky in New Hampshire. Hassan's support for the law defies common sense, given that study after study shows that health insurance premiums in our state are increasing.
